- An Approach to CSO's
How do CSOs fund their activities?
Individual donations |
Gifts are made by individuals or organizations that have not established a legal vehicle for donating to a nonprofit organization. |
International cooperation |
Contributions are made by international organizations, foreign government donor agencies, bilateral agencies, and philanthropic foundations to CSOs implementing specific programs or projects in different fields related to governance, democratic strengthening, human rights, development, social inclusion, and poverty alleviation. |
Self-generated |
CSOs develop automatic-financing techniques, as the total amount of payments stems from the sale of goods, membership dues, and voluntary investments from members or the board. |
State |
National government agencies provide grants to CSOs implementing projects—jointly or by themselves—especially in the field of service delivery. |
Private sector |
Grants are made by individuals and companies that are for-profit businesses. |
Political parties |
Political parties and politicians make donations to CSOs pursuing shared governance goals, chiefly to think tanks. |
